NABA is glad to announce that the student of the BA in Media Design and Multimedia Arts, Filmmaking specialization, Federico Dematté was selected with his short film “Inchei” at the 36th edition of the Venice International Film Critics’ Week, within the section Short Italian Cinema that hosts the presence of NABA students for the second year in a row.
“Inchei”, produced by Nieminen Film and distributed by Premiere Film, is a short film on the edge between documentary and fiction that pictures with a personal point of view the life of a gipsy young man in Milan’s outskirts. An exceptional result for a current student, selected by SIC@SIC (Short Italian Cinema @ Settimana Internazionale della Critica), the initiative that aims at supporting the development of new Italian cinema and promoting young filmmakers, an occasion of great visibility at international level.
To this result is closely followed by another great recognition: the participation of Simone Bozzelli, alumnus of the BA in Media Design and Multimedia Arts at Locarno Film Festival, from August 4th to 14th , with his short film “Giochi”, selected within the section Pardi di Domani that showcases short and medium length films as world or international premieres.
The Academy’s ex-student continues his remarkable path as a young film author, after winning in the SIC@SIC section of last year edition of Venice International Film Festival with “J’ador”, presenting his short film within the Locarno Film Festival, that sees the artistic direction of Giona A. Nazzaro, NABA lecturer of the History of cinema course in NABA campus in Rome. Simone Bozzelli was also the director of “I wanna be your slave”, the last video clip for the internationally famous Italian rock band Maneskin, available since last July 15th.
